Wow that is just stunning. I LOVE this photo of it too. The way the pleats make an artistic image.

I don’t know where to post this but we LOVED all of 108 but especially loved the 40’s costumes and sets. We watch as a group of fans, and we try to wait to comment until the end of the episode, but when Frank puts Claire’s suitcase on the bed, my sister said, “Whoa did you see how perfectly those slacks were pressed? You could cut yourself on that pleat.” I loved it. She has no idea I follow you on social media, (she has no interest in social media of any kind) So there you get the reaction of a random fan who doesn’t know you’d ever hear her reaction.

And I know this was just a brief moment, but I loved how you dressed wee Roger! Since he’s with the Reverend I could imagine he’s always just that bit more formal than the other kids, which makes him just that bit odd to the other kids. Perfection.

The workmanship is just exquisite. Terry you have very talented craftsmen/women working on Outlander. I can quite understand why this gorgeous gament took as long to make as it did. 😀

That is insane! Did anyone count the pleats? Even more amazing up close. I can sew a straight line and that is about it, I can’t imagine the amount of cursing that went on creating that beauty! 🙂

I have two questions about the silvery dress fabric —
It looks to be a very loose weave; was it hard to keep it from bagging and sagging?
Was it linen or wool, a combination (linsy-woolsy), or something else? Rayon perhaps?

I remember when I was sewing regularly that pleats could be quite difficult to do well, even though the process is fairly simple. It becomes more difficult with thicker and/or lots of fabric. The pleating on this gown is perfect!

That is one of the most beautiful pieces of clothing I have ever seen! Amazing handiwork. What happens to the clothing after the show? I hope whoever gets this appreciates it…LOL! Terry and her team deserve an Emmy on this dress alone, let alone the rest of the show wardrobe!

Geez Terry, these pleats are mind numbing – maybe I should say finger numbing! lol – Stunningly beautiful and I know how much intensely hard work that is. I so adore the metallic silver fabric for the dress. What a amazing choice, and what a breathtaking visual is gives us. Just a a seriously “wow” piece! Thanks for sharing close-ups. As a seamstress of over 40 years, I so appreciate all the little details. 🙂

This dress Terry is one that just makes my heart skip beats…without a doubt the time and detail and caring that went into its design and making just show in a radiant way…Without a doubt it is one of my favorite TV gowns I have ever seen…The details that are on this dress are amazing perfectly sewn perfectly pleated just beyong stunning. The color alone just pops on the screen so very very pleased and I for one think it was THE WEDDING dress that is one of a kind! Great job!

This dress is quite simply breathtaking. The details in these close-ups rival anything I’ve seen in all my coffee table books of vintage haute couture by Balenciaga, Dior, etc. — the embroidery, the intricate pleating…swoon! You and your team are simply amazing. 🙂

WOW! What a work of art!!!
You’re like an architect of a beautiful house…in the form of a wedding dress! So beautiful….magnificent!
Will there be a chance that we may have an exhibit of some of the Outlander costumes? I would love to be able to see them, most specially Jamie and Claire’s wedding attires.

Having just viewed the #Wedding episode here in Canada this past Saturday, your costumes have left me gobsmacked!!! Every episode in this journey, has given us a visual smorgasbord to feast our eyes on…but the #Wedding was the icing on top, Terry! That wedding dress is a real treasure, and it made Claire look like a #Princess… and as for Jamie, you made him the dashing #Laird that all of us imagined he would be. I look forward to #Ep8 (I had a peek at Hugh Munro BTW, and just loved his garb) and can’t wait see what you have in store for us. Thank you for wrapping our #Outlander TV journey in the most astral of packages 😀

On Sunday, We went to see The Costumes of Dowton Abby at Winterthur, all I kept thinking was: one day there will be an exhibit The Costumes of Outlander. Outstanding in every way.

This dress is exquisite and reminds me of the time I spent in the wardrobe department of a local theatre company 30 years ago making costumes for a production of A Christmas Carol. We made the women’s skirts with this same deep pleating. Most of the dress garments were actually two pieces: separate skirt with overlapping bodice. But this looks all of one piece. Amazing!
