I can’t even imagine what it will be like to be a mother-in-law. My oldest is in college, but he’s never brought a partner home to meet the family, so I don’t even know what it would be like to have a kid who’s dating someone. Or at least dating someone seriously. I hope I can be gracious and supportive and understanding!
It’s really lovely what you said about your father, Rachely. My dad died when I was 19, so he never really got to know me as an adult. I wish he had.
