YES. I am super close to my mom, as is my sister. I know my boys love me, but I know it’s not the same relationship I would have had with a girl. I expect that they will cleave to their wives, and that is as it should be but even married, I call my mother when my son has a cold (she’s a nurse) or just to tell her about my day. After I had children, I saw her more as an extension of my self, and she tells me it’s the same. I mean, I live in the Midwest and she lives on the East Coast and that is hard enough.
