incredibly stressful and the most interesting job I’ve ever had. I was in dade county fla in the 80s. started as computers were coming in. had to know criminal vs civil law, jursidictions of 26 cities plus our department, and the 3 who had their own 911 system. never knew if a call was a nut job, emergency, or simple question. my personal top number of calls per one shift (6 1/2 hours after breaks) was 891!
