SchlossDameThank you Liz! Your information makes perfect sense, as my Great-Grandfather had a long military career and brought back many items from his travels. I’ve attached a photo from his trip to China (in 1901 – he’s the man with the tinted glasses) and photos showing my Grandfather & Father wearing Russian tunics he brought home. (Believe it it or not, I also wore those tunics when I was in kindergarten.) He also brought home a beautifully embroidered Chinese imperial robe and 17th century sword that we still have. Thank you again for sharing your expertise.
