We stayed there for 2 nights on a driving tour of the Scottish Highlands in late September/October 1983.
At the cocktail hour on the first evening, Lord and Lady MacDonald were welcoming and visiting with hotel guests on the front lawn with their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
She graciously signed her cookbook Seasonal Cooking From the Isle of Skye (it had just been published) for me. I use it for inspiration to this day. We loved our stay there. It was very romantic.
On the ferry to Skye, my husband insisted on humming the Skye Boat Song. (Mercifully, he’d forgotten the words.)
